  8. adolescent cult classic The Outsiders launched a group of
  9. virtually unknown young actors toward stardom. Among the cast:
  10. PATRICK SWAYZE, EMILIO ESTEVEZ, ROB LOWE and TOM CRUISE.
  11. Coppola's affection for the book is undimmed. It has, he says,
  12. "idealism and deep, heartfelt human friendship," and he's
  13. revamping the story of the tough but sensitive greasers for
  14. television with another bunch of unknown hopefuls. Write these
